Learning Unreal Engine 4 : session 5 (Events, Matinee, Mecanisms and Horror stuff)

Hi there! Here is my last learning session on Unreal Engine 4. I finally completed the tutorial selection I made, and now I feel like I’m ready to go to the next level! This prototype is slowly moving to some horror-fantasy-middle-age-fps, and it feels great from my point of view! There are some of the few features I discovered and learned to use in the past week :

  • Animation, sounds, and how to deal with them in matinee/timeline sequences
  • Outline on usable objects
  • Doors with a switch system
  • Particle effects
  • Lights

I don’t know for now what I’ll focus on for the next learning sessions, but I feel like optimization of the Level Design could be a good point to get. Maybe some FPS features could be great to add to this prototype, before doing something consistant with it.
